The role of the Muslim organizations in strengthening of the international world

Right after disintegration of the Soviet Union one of the most important and discussed subjects in Russia and other countries of the former USSR, was a subject of the international and interreligious relations.

The last 20 years the normalization of the international and interreligious relations is being made by thousands of minds, huge amounts of money are allocated for it by the state and by various funds. However, the situation is still extremely difficult. Moreover, during the last years the situation is getting worse. Level of violence for the ethnic reasons, nationalist marches, acts of terrorism and murders, intolerance degree in grow in our society.


Intensity in the sphere of the international relations of last years is connected with two facts: the question of migratory and the religious radicalism. So exactly these two facts became the object of speculation of various back-alley journalists, politicians and public figures. As a result, we have a picture when all problems of our Russian society can be written off for migrants, Muslims and in general ethnically others. First of all, leaders and speakers of opposition who absolutely unfairly considers themself as liberals succeed there. Their names are known for everyone, their acts and speeches speak by themselves.

Various centers of examinations and radicalism and extremism prevention are opened all around the country; however, it doesn't change the situation. Moreover, activity of some similar centers has a boomerang effect, and instead of the solution of problems we receive their aggravation. As it seems to me, the main reason for such situation is that not enough attention is paid to those organizations which are engaged in our country in practical activities, that is, both migrants and various radicals meet almost daily. Among them, certainly, there are Muslim organizations: mosques, madrasah, public Muslim organizations.

Certainly, support from the state of the Muslim organizations is increased during recent years, in many respects thanks to the state they function and develop. It very good, however, in my opinion, their potential in the sphere of prevention of the international and interfaith conflicts is insufficiently used today.

For example, the question of adaptation of migrants who mostly comes from Central Asia, could be solved by involving mosques. Certainly, migrants who badly know Russian need to be trained in language, however it isn't enough of it. The real psychological adaptation in the Russian environment can happen through mosques which are controlled by the Tatar clergy. Mosque and Muslim Tatars could become intermediaries between migrants from Central Asia and other Russian society. After all a negative image of migrants who drink, stick to girls, fight and make various offenses, it develops in many respects because having left traditional habitat, they are torn off from the communities and aren't ready to face temptations of modern society. Moreover testing a set of the stresses caused by migration they dangers of radicalization are subject. All this needs to be considered, giving an assessment from life in Russia. Mosques could become a place of their adaptation in the Russian conditions, mitigation of cultural shock which they sometimes feel coming to our country. However, sometimes, mosques don't have enough human and other resources for work with them. In this question the integrated approach is necessary: development of methods of work with migrants, their involvement in life of Muslim communities, prevention in their environment of radical and criminal moods, etc.

The similar situation is available and with fight against various radical groups and destructive currents. Mosques, first of all, face this problem as they become object of expansion of destructive radical currents. It concerns not only large mosques, it is a common problem of traditional Muslim clergy today. As mosques and madrasah are a place of concentration of Muslim life, fight in this field defines the future of the Russian part world minds. Therefore consecutive and purposeful support of the traditional Muslim organizations is necessary for the solution of this problem in the territory of all country. Eventually, as Islam began an attraction factor to fence off for considerable part of modern youth them from radicalization probably, only having provided them that real Muslim ideology which has creative and constructive character, instead of that substitute which under the guise of Islam palm off on our youth. That is, a formulation of alternative to that radical currents probably only in Islam language, only through mosques and Muslim educational institutions.

Nobody knows radicals better then attendants of the Muslim organizations as they should meet and fight with them in the everyday life. However shortage of resources sometimes becomes one of the reasons why the traditional Muslim organizations lose in the competition to many radical organizations having good material resources.

Today it’s very important to realize the value of the Muslim organizations in the solution of the international and interreligious conflicts. It is the historical moment for our society therefore it is very important not to miss opportunity to refract a situation.
