Rustam Minnikhanov met the ambassador of Russia in the Sultanate of Oman

Today in Moscow Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, met Envarbik Fazelyanov, who was again appointed by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation as the Plenipotentiary ambassador of Russia in the Sultanate of Oman and who will start his work with the accrediting diploma soon.

Envarbik Fazelyanov thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for a meeting.  The parties discussed questions of further cooperation of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Tatarstan and adjustment of closer trade and economic relations, reports the press center of embassy of Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation.

Tatarstan conducts active work on adjustment and development of trade and economic, scientific and technical and welfare cooperation with the Russian regions and foreign countries.  The republic is interested in expansion of mutually beneficial relations and activation of business and economic relations with the countries of the Middle East, including the Sultanate of Oman.

Now Oman carries out diversification of the economy, expands production, shows a particular interest to innovative and technological development, including oil and gas industry.

In its turn the basis of the economy of Tatarstan is made by such industries as oil production, petrochemistry and oil refining, mechanical engineering, an avia - and helicopter engineering, special attention the republic pays to development of innovative technologies and their implantation in real sector of economy.

Also cooperation in the field of educational programs, tourism and cultural ties was interesting for both regions.

The ambassador presented the book "Dialogue of civilizations.  Russia and the Muslim world", published in 2013 to the President of Tatarstan.  This book tells about difficulties of cooperation in the modern world, about providing conditions for prevention of emergence of the new dividing line which is carried out by religious civilization principle.

In the book it’s noted that Russia can act as somekind of bridge for rapprochement of the West and the Muslim East, transformation of cooperation with it in the integral element of international policy.  Author emphasized that the experience of the Republic of Tatarstan is important for development of humanitarian and cultural cooperation.

For the reference. Envarbik Fazelyanov is at diplomatic work since 1987. He worked in Iraq, Kuwait, Sudan and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). He was the Plenipotentiary ambassador of Russia in Sudan during more than 6 years.
