Muslims of Malawi ask local authorities to nationalize the holiday of Mawlid an-Nabi – birthday of the Prophet Mohammad (the peace to him and Allah's blessing) during two years but it has no result till today.

Muslims of Malawi in honor of the birth of the Prophet Mohammad (the peace to him and Allah's blessing) organize the parade, where a huge number of believers take part.

This year the president Joyce Banda, the former president Bakili Muluz , the Minister of Transport Sidik Mia and the Minister of Internal Affairs Uladi Moussa took part in celebrations.

"This date is the holiday in Islamic countries. We would be very glad if it was the same here. This day is very important for all Muslims, because our beloved Prophet Mohammad (the peace to him was born and Allah's blessing) was born this day", –told the representant of the local Islamic organization Mohammad Raydkhan.
